Even though i dislike dota/lol im willing to give this a chance, ive heard they arent going to use items, and some other crazy stuff (like jungle camps will fight with you when losing) but im pretty sure thats all rumors
Im hoping they dont just make LoL with blizzard character skins

Also nova was a badass in that trailer



On a side note, i feel like blizz isnt even trying with the names of their games anymore
Ever single recent one has been "something of the something", with the exception of hearthstone which was just the name of a basic WoW item
And no, i dont count Reaper of Souls as being different since it still fits the "something of the something" because you could say it as Reaper of the Souls and it would still have the same meaning (just really weird sounding)
In fact they reused the same letters as heart of the swarm so now it will be confusing when people say they are playing hots

I don't think something of something is necessarily a bad game name, i think maybe your saying that just because heroes of the storm seems like such a stale totally random name.

I didnt see that video, i like how they are making different maps with different objectives, it definitely wont just be LoL with blizz skins if they do that

Its not that its a bad name, its that its a lazy name, which is why i said they arent trying

Although i guess this isnt really a new thing cause we also had, Lord of Destruction, Reign of Chaos, and Tides of Darkness
Still though they used "something of (the) something" way to many times now
It would be fine if all their games were "something of (the) something" cause then that would be their thing, at least they would have a theme and would have to make every name they make fit that pattern which can become difficult after awhile without reusing the same words or the same letters (like hots), but they didnt so its just lazy

I dont mind the ''something of something'' very much either, but they have used it a lot, you'd think with how gun-ho they are about delaying games till they have time to develop them to their hearts content tehy'd have time to higher a decent marketing team for their naming conventions.
It does seem really sloppy that they rehashed a name that will be abbreviated ''hots'' though.
I guess they wouldn't care very much since legacy of the void is probably going to be released around the same time as HOTS, so people will stop having to refer to Starcraft as HOTS.
But still, why not "Heroes of the Tempest" Identical meaning, but sooo much cooler.

But I could never get excited for any dota clones.
I never felt like HoN or LoL brought enough innovation that separated it from dota to make it really worthwhile.
Maybe blizzard will be able to though.

I dont think people will use lotv as a thing because you cant say it as a word (if you do it sounds like "lot of" which just sounds dumb)
People will probably go back to just using sc2 and leaving the lotv out

Also lotv wont be out until at least 2016, so hots should be out before lotv is
People will still be playing hots when hots is released, i doubt it will take them 3 more years to finish since the beta is starting soon, you can already sign up for it

Probably because tempest is a sc2 unit

But i agree it does sound cooler
The name isnt that bad on its own though, since blizzard is a type of storm, heroes of the storm fits the game pretty well
They just need to stop using "something of (the) something"

And i think HoN and LoL improved on dota
It improved a lot, the shop system for 1 thing (which was 1 of my biggest complaints about original dota), then dota2 came and improved it even more
Currently im looking forward to magicka wizard wars as the dota clone that i want to play since it has a really cool spell casting mechanic
But im willing to give hots a try (if its f2p)



Also i just realized that the "something of (the) something" thing extends to dota and its clones
LoL = League of Legends
HoN = Heroes of Newerth
Dota = Defense of the Ancients

OOhhh, i never even thought of hte ''blizzard'' ''storm'' connection. that makes so much more sense, the named seemed so random at first.

An i guess what i mean by 'not excited'
is that all the dota-esq games (whatever this genera is called), is that they all felt too similar.
For instance, sc2 and wc3 are both RTS games and evne made by the same company, but they feel completely different, and there's evne more variation between RTS games made by not-blizzard.
Whereas MOBA's (OH thats what they'er called. f'n moba's) MOBA's, just feel like 50 shades of dota.

couldn't really use WoL as a word either, but people still use that. Well the FPS genre started out like that too
When doom came out every game was called a doom clone since they were all almost identical to doom with some improvements

The FPS thing is true, and MOBA's are super underdeveloped right now, so i guess companies just need more time with the genera to figure out what to do with them.

The alpha for this started today and i watched a bit of a stream

It looks to be the best dota clone, it doesnt change anything major like airmech does though i dont really consider airmech to be a clone since it took it in such a different direction

This game is definitely a clone, but it added variety and just general fun to a dota game, theres multiple maps i think 4 in total, each map has its own set of objectives, some maps even have sub levels, like mini dungeons that you can go through

They made it much more casual, i cant tell if that is bad or not, i would need to play it, like theres no last hitting, which is just weird, i guess since theres more objectives in the map you dont need to just stand in the lane last hitting for the first 10 mins of the game, so a last hitting mechanic wouldnt make sense so i think it should be fine

Also the jungle camp thing and other crazy stuff that i said were probably rumors turned out to be true
I really didnt think they would try to break the mold as much as they have


Im more interested than i was before, and i will play it at some point

I checked a couple of games of this. Like you said, its cool that they deviated from the DOTA norms, but I feel like they maybe rushing it a little. The abilities don't really seem particularly fun, they mostly rely on the fact that their linked to the character to make them appealing. Like its freaken cool that Raynor summons a giant battle cruiser that moves forward, but the ability to its core is basically a slow moving line nuke. And if you look at the rest of his kit, its something like an AOE buff another line nuke and passive that i didnt find out what it did.

I don't know man, maybe i was expecting too much. I want it to be better than lol, but the way lol champs are built, feels like they are really centered on making them fun to play.

Also i don't like the pirate port custom map mode. Bringing items to a guy so he attacks buildings, doesn't seem that fun, considering all the possible modes that can be made in this.

Anyways the rest is cool, and im purposely being really harsh, because i usually expect the best from blizzard. Plus its only ALPHA so you know, it could become very different

its weird looking back at the sc2 alpha, and even the first hots units they came up with, and they do manage to make a lot of changes.
But LoL seems like a very solidly built game, so it might be hard to compete.

Have they made any statements about whether they're planning to make it more competitive focused like sc2/lol? or fun focused like hearthstone? cus that'll probably make a difference

Raynor is the character for people that are completely new to the game, he has the most basic stuff, but like the tank and abathur have unique and really fun looking stuff
Also you can pick your ult, for raynor you can pick the bc strike or banshee escorts that attack the stuff you attack or the stuff that attacks you
Once you level up (not in game but your overall level from playing games) to i think level 7 or 8 you get more talent choices for every hero its like 5 choices every level until team level 10 then its every other level i think

Twisted Fate was the only fun 1 i played, and even he got boring after a while

I think it can be fun, since you wont be able to just get the items without the other team trying to stop you, and you cant turn them in without the other team trying to stop you
If 1 team ignores the objective then yeah it would be boring as you would just stomp them since that boat deals so much damage
Its more fun than sitting in a lane farming creeps

I dont think it can compete with LoL, and i dont think it should try
Its too casual to get most of the people that play LoL to switch to this, making it more competitive would just be dumb of them

As far as i can tell they are going with the fun route rather than the competitive route

Perhaps, but the mode is also really flawed, because its built to help the winning team snowball.

Yeah, that could be a problem, would have to play a bunch or see a bunch of games played on that map to know that for sure though
I dont think its any worse than LoL or dota snowballs though
And it gives the losing team a chance to turn the game around in their favor if they manage to get it once, unlike LoL or dota where a snowball is impossible to stop and you may as well just stop wasting time and surrender once the enemy starts snowballing

oohhh, my bad. Aparently the lore is that Tassadar is a high templar that was one of the first to interact peaceably with the dark templars, and grew to learn their powers.
Its confusing, cus in sc2 wol he's basically only given dark templar powers. but in reality he should have both.

First impressions

-Games not made for my crappy computer

-Game modes are pretty fun

-Abilities don't feel like they synergize with each other in a cool way, they feel like they were built around what the famous blizzard character should do instead of what role he or she should properly fill. Plus the way you upgrade your hero feels a bit messy

-Some skins are overprice, for example there is an arthas skin in which the only difference from the default is that he has no helm and it costs 7.5$

-Some skins are terrible. I mean they don't look different enough from the default to feel cool or they are simply hideous. Like a roller skating 70s Nova or an abathur in feety-pijamas

-They have the exact same ping system than in league. Wouldn't call it a rip off, coz league took so much from warcraft III that simply taking the ping thing is nothing in comparison

-Music is nice. I thought it was cool that in one of the maps they used the warcraft III soundtrack. But i think itll be removed since its just in Alpha.

-The models are really nice (even on my super low quality)

-The announcer is like super annoying and makes random comments.

Well those are my first impressions

The ping system from LoL isnt something that LoL invented, before that tribes had a similar thing where you could hit key combos to give commands

So like hitting V D and then G would say "Defend the generator"
V was to open the menu, D was for defensive things (A was for attacking, there are others too), and G was for the generator (F is for flag, B for base, etc)

And Natural Selection (the original half life mod, way before LoL) had something that is almost exactly the same thing as LoL where the commander would give orders through the map and it would show up on everyones HUD (which reminds me seren we should totally play natural selection 2)

So you cant really say it copied it from LoL when LoL copied something else
Also these types of systems are fundamental communication tools, so you cant really consider it a rip off, its like saying a game that has a chat system ripped that chat system off from another game with a chat system because both systems have /whisper


Anyway, i havent seen the abathur feety pajama's skin, but i think it could be funny
Hearthstone has warcraft 2 music in it as an homage, the wc3 music here might be the same
I like that the abilities follow lore rather than forcing them into roles, from what ive seen it looks like there are no roles so it shouldnt need to follow the standard MOBA roles, though them not synergizing together isnt good

i didnt really mean they copied lol, i was pretty sure lol didnt invent it, i guess i was trying to draw attention to the fact that lol copied a shit-ton form warcraft.

I guess your right, since theres no items, roles are more blurry.

I also noticed that HOTS has a general chat that you are immediatly logged into, which is interesting. Also the friend list doesnt seem compatible with the rest of BNET as of yet.

Also check this out http://www.heroesnexus.com/news/1125-datamined-unreleased-heroes-update-town-hall-16 . Its the datamined heroes, I WANT FENIX!!!! I didnt really like that added murky and LILI so early when they have all these awesome heroes to add. Ida liked better if they were added on like a holiday or a special occasion than in the alpha Sad

I got into the alpha, played all the currently free heroes and all the maps, looked through the cash shop, got a feel for the business model, gained enough levels to unlock more advanced hero abilities

I like the game a lot more than LoL and DOTA2

Gameplay
The games feel a lot faster, most of the boring lane sitting is cut out due to the objectives on the map and overall it just feels less annoying/frustrating to play
They dumbed down a lot of common MOBA systems, normally i hate the dumbing down of stuff, but here i think it works as the core mechanics (hero fightning) arent dumbed down and are great, and the map objectives add a new system to make up for the dumbing down of the other systems

Theres still that annoying dance at the start where you poke the enemy heroes to force them out of a lane while they poke at you trying to do the same but since you have 3 skills right from the start its less of a poke and more of a punch to the face with how much hp you can take out if both players in a lane focus 1, so it feels less annoying
Also since theres a moonwell that heals you right behind the gate its less annoying to be poked at

The walls/gates make it harder to be ganked which was 1 of the biggest things i hate in MOBAs, even when im the one doing the ganking with my team, uneven fights are never fun to me
If its your group of 3 against 1 or 2 of them, to me, its like this
If we win: "Of course we would win, we outnumbered them"
If they run away its like "Of course theyed run away they are scared of being outnumbered"
If we lose its like "Wow we are pathetic for losing when we outnumbered them"

And if it their group of 3 vs 1 or 2 of you, when i win i just think they are pathetic or new, when i lose it was pretty unavoidable so of course id lose
Running away from 3v1 is the only time where it occasionally feels good, depending on how i got away
Generally though i just find uneven fights to be boring and unfair on both sides of the unevenness
So the gates/walls are great, they also let you get away which the towers in other games rarely help you do (there are ways to bypass the walls/gate, but most of the time that leaves you stuck on the wrong side of the gate and leads to death, you can also go around them the long way)

When people do get away with 1 hp its less frustrating than in LoL/Dota too, i dont know why, i havent had that situation where the person gets away with low hp and i die trying to chase them yet, so maybe it is frustrating but since ive only basically tied (he has low hp and i have low hp and we both escape from the person thats coming to help the other) it hasnt been frustrating

Team fights feel better to me as well, again i cant really tell why, it might be because no one hero can ever be super powerful/super weak due to items hence the team fights feel more like a team effort
In LoL/dota if a player is fed and stacked with items they end up doing most of the work in a team fight, and if a player is underpowered with crappy or incomplete items its like they cant contribute anything
Here though thats not an issue so it just feels a lot more even and winning/losing feels a lot more based on your teamwork or skillful use of abilities and less like 1 team has a bit better (or in extreme cases significantly better) gear than yours which tips the fight in their favor

Support roles seem stronger too, like tassadar is classified as ranged support, but psistorm can deal as much dmg as jaina's blizzard and jaina is a full on dps, so even though hes support hes more like a dmg/support hybrid (can even tank temporarily)
LiLi feels more like a standard support character, but even she feels more powerful with that damage ability that also heals

So overall the gameplay is a lot more enjoyable to me compared to other MOBAs

Community
The community is way better than LoL/dota's, people still complain but like when you try to save someone by spending all your support cds on them and they still die for w/e reason they dont blame you for not saving them
Most of the complaining is about who to target/kill first when that target isnt killed first but so far its been no where near as toxic as LoL when things go wrong
Other than that people are pretty quite, using the ping system to communicate rather than typing

The map objectives really help team co ordination with a team made of a bunch of random people, i havent had a single game that was lost due to someone being at the wrong place at the wrong time because the map guides the team into a pretty well co ordinated group
There was 1 game where i was really out of position being greedy collecting coins (we needed to push for it so i took the risk), and thought i was dead, but was really surprised to see my teamate there to help me out doing the same thing i was doing which turned certain death into a triple kill

Overall my experience with other players has been pretty good

Business model
This is my major complaint with the game, the cash shop sucks
A lot of the heroes are $10 or 10k gold, which is insane

$10 for a single hero is ridiculous, you can get a full game in steams holiday sale for less than that

10k gold is also way too much, you get 30 gold for winning and 20 gold for losing (10 gold for winning against the AI with a team of other players, i dont think you get anything for losing against the AI)
Yeah 30 gold for each win, thats 334 wins to unlock 1 hero and is basically nothing comapred to other ways of getting gold
You get about 25k gold from leveling up your character and heroes, but that takes awhile, so far ive only got 2k from it
After that initial "free" 25k gold you have to do dailies as your main source of gold, most of them give 200 gold so it would take 50 days worth of just doing dailies to unlock a single 10k gold hero

The daily's can give you quests that you cant complete as well, like my first daily is play 2 games with Diablo, but i dont have Diablo unlocked and hes not on the free rotation, and you cant re-roll the dailies to get a different one, so ill probably be stuck with that diablo one for weeks
I just have to hope my next daily is 1 that i actually can complete

Its just really bad and might make me stop playing very quickly if they dont change it
Not only that, but brand new heroes cost 15k gold for the first week and then drop to 10k, so its even worse than really bad
Theres no need to do that its just being greedy, especially when you compare it to dota2 which only charges for cosmetic stuff

Some of the heroes are more reasonably priced, 2k, 4k and 7k are the other tiers, i have no idea how they decide on the price, its either the price goes down over time or entirely random (i cant tell if its based on character popularity, tassadar is only 4k and i would consider him to be very popular so i dont think it is, but if it turns out the more popular characters are more expensive than the less popular ones i will never play the game again just because of how greedy they are being)

Final Thoughts
Bacon said the game felt phoned in, but i dont think it is
I dont really play other MOBAs so im probably not the best judge of this, but it feels like a more streamlined version of a MOBA with more map variety and a couple interesting abilities that i havent seen before
I have noticed though that most heroes have an aoe for creep sweeping, a single target damage spell for hero poking, and a movement/stun/heal for a bit of self support a lot of which are pretty interchangeable with any other of the same type of skill, but LoL/dota has a lot of basically interchangeable skills too and even though theres a small hero pool so far theres already several interesting skills
But other than a couple interchangeable skills nothing feels half-assed to me

Im going to keep playing the game, other MOBAs i really need someone else to play with to feel motivated to play it (even ones i like, like Airmech), but this one feels ok to play alone with randoms
Ill keep playing for awhile at least, if the business model doesnt change i will inevitably quit due to that but for now its not an issue to me

Since its still in alpha (it goes into beta next month) theres plenty of time for them to change stuff so they probably will

Im still playing this and really enjoying it, the beta came out with some minor changes, a new map and a new hero

The new map is strange, you have to hold a control point while your attacked by small waves of mobs, with a mini-boss at the start
Holding that point will deal a bunch of damage to the enemies structures, the enemy team can attack you while youre fighting the mobs to stop you
The reason i say its strange is because later on in the game 2 of these points will be capturable at the same time and right now, as far as i know, theres no meta for what to do when both points are up, i never know if my team/the enemy team will split up to try to take both or just focus on 1, and if 1 team does end up controling both it basically ends the game right there since it deals a massive amount of dmg

They also added thrall, who is OP right now, he can use windfury to heal himself, and windfury works with battle momentum, which means he can basically spam windfury and be nearly immortal by getting all the windfury talents and battle momentum while still outputting a lot of dps, best way to deal with him is to kill him before he can start his windfury BS which is easier said than done since windfury also buffs his movement speed making it easier for him to get his attacks off

Although you shouldnt get the pack because its terrible value, $40 for 3 heroes, 2500 gold, beta access and a few cosmetic stuff
2500 gold is 500 more gold than the bare minimum you need to unlock 1 of the cheapest heroes
The 3 heroes you get are all subpar, in fact i think all 3 are the worst of their categories (tyrande might not be worst support, but close to it), diablo can be fun to play though, raynor is pretty boring to me (his self heal mechanic is fun when people over commit to kill you but you out heal and kill them), and dps tyrande is fun to play if you have an actual support on your team
So yeah, imo, really not worth $40


Ive played a bunch more since my initial impressions of my last post

The gold pricing of heroes isnt really an issue like i thought it might be, ive unlocked the main ones that i wanted
The community isnt as nice as i initially said, and it might get worse in the future, though its still no where near as terrible as LoL is (only 1 game, out of the 100 or so ive played, was really bad, but theres minor bithcing and blaming in 1 out of 3 losses, occasionally people complain when we are winning too which i just find silly)
After playing a moba like this for a while (mainly after playing abathur, which ill get to later) i understand where the rage comes from now
Ive played most of the heroes now, enough to understand them all, and ive used abathurs copy power to try all of them during real games, and i could talk about all of them but that would be way to long so instead ill just go over my favorites

Favorite Heroes (currently)

Assassin: Tychus

Tychus might be the best assassin in the game, you can use the nade to knock people away or toward you, overkill does massive damage and eventually slows people to ensure they die, and you have an escape with the dash
Odin is also OP, it gives you a 2nd life bar, basically a temporary full heal, when it dies you come out of it with the hp total you had before using it, i think it will be nerfed in the future

If theres no healer in the game ill get vampiric assault at level 4 and stoneskin at level 16, also i want to get concussion nade at 16 but am always afraid ill screw up the nade throw and end up saving the enemy by knocking them the wrong way, which i havent done (sometimes i knock them to the side by accident) but it feels like too much responsibility to have so i dont take it, yet

Warrior: Arthas

Arthas used to be awesome when resurgence of the storm was in (probably OP), now hes still pretty good though he has no good options at level 20
Rune tap+frostmoune hungers is also a crappier (balanced) version of thralls windfurry OPness but still pretty powerful if you can get the attacks off

I like army of the dead more than sindragosa, the healing you get from sacraficing the ghouls makes you immortal sometimes and it feels great, where as sindragosa is just deal dmg/slow in a line, though i do think sindragosa is more powerful than army of the dead
I usually dont like melee characters in these games but i really like frostmourne+runetap, ill probably get thrall at some point since he as a simillar mechanic but better


Healing Support: Rehgar

So i used to like LiLi for healing (she used to have the best burst healing and was fun to position/run around with), then the beta came and nerfed the crap out of her, then i played rehgar and even if LiLi wasnt nerfed id like rehgar more than her anyway
Ghost wolf is really fun, just instantly become a wolf to escape with, and i regen hp and mana with it too, earth shield takes a mechanic i love (giving a shield to save someone) and combines with with an aoe dmg ability which is great
The totem kindve sucks until level 16, then it becomes insanely powerful
Ansestral healing basically acts as a full heal, and at level 20, if the team groups up close enough it almost acts as a full team heal, its OP

I dont think rehgar is the best healer, brightwing probably is the best healer currently, but i enjoy playing him more than brightwing (brightwing is fun too though)


Utility Support: Tassadar

I split the support category into 2 things, healing and utility, mainly because tassadar isnt a support like the others are yet is still classified as a support so hes basically in a category of his own and happens to be a hero i really enjoy playing
His shield can reduce a massive amount of damage because of its short cd, more than any healer can heal and using the shield to save someone feels really satisfying

Psi-storm is like a worse version of tychus's nade, but keeps people away from an area rather than knocking them out of an area so it has some up side (and it deals more total dmg if they are stuck in it)
Archon is, again, a worse version of Odin, but you can still use all your normal abilities and your basic attack deals splash damage so in some ways its better

I used to not get the dimensional shift talents (i used to go with this: http://www.heroesfire.com/hots/talent-calculator/tassadar#lrvR ), but after using the shift talents i realized how powerful it was, they basically makes you unkillable so that you can keep shielding people, also prescience has its own cd separate from shifts normal cd which i didnt realize at first (the main reason its so powerful is that it lets you use it twice because of the separate cd thing)


Specialist: Abathur

Currently this is my favorite hero overall and the one ive played the most

Abathur plays very differently from other heroes, symbiote lets you leap around onto other heroes, buildings, and minions, once you are attached to 1 of them you get 3 abilities to use from their hero, stab, spike burst, and carapace
Stab is just a skill shot straight line dmg dealing ability, spike burst is an aoe around the thing you are attached to, and carapace is a shield that adds temporary health
When you arent attached to something you can place toxic nests down in a huge area around the map, which take 4 seconds to arm and act like mines to deal dmg when something comes close, but they can be attacked and killed (they also give vision of an area)
The reason i like abathur so much is because there never any downtime and you can be everywhere at once, with this build i can push all 3 lanes at the same time (1 lane gets monstrosity, another gets toxic nests, the 3rd gets locusts + my occasional symbiote on a minion to use spike burst/stab to manually clear) while at the same time participate in team fights with symbiote

The talents i get basically allow me to turn whoever im attached to into a demigod, most heroes can go 3v1 with my help, some of the assassins like valaa and tychus can do 4v1, illidan and thrall can solo the enemy team and the core as long as i time the healing/shield properly
At level 20 i can attach to 2 people at the same time as long as they stay in range, which is just insane, the 2 of them are basically unstoppable at that point as long as they stay close enough together, it also doubles my dmg output from stab and spikes
I can also ninja objectives sometimes, though it takes some prep work because you need vision to tunnel your way across the map, so in order to do it first i have to get close enough to put the nest down (the nest has a huge range but i usually wont get the global range so sometimes i have to move to get in range) then wait for it to finish, then wait to tunnel then pop up to get it, i only say this because people expect me to teleport across the map instantly like im falstad when i cant do that most of the time
Ill also reveal zeratul and nova with stab when i see them moving around while cloaked (since i dont have to move around or worry about positioning its a lot easier to see cloaked units), which might be the most satisfying thing to do, especially when the team murders them right after i reveal them
Sometimes i feel like i choose who lives and who dies on my team, especially in the early game when people are in lane, since i can only help 1 person whoever i go on usually lives, and when the other person doesnt get away and dies i feel like thats on me for not choosing the one that died

I think ive just described god, yeah, abathur is god, he can be everywhere, bestows godlike power to 1 or 2 people of his choosing, and chooses who gets to live

I pick monstrosity over ultimate evolution most of the time because ultimate evolution doesnt copy ultimates anymore, so it kindve sucks now, monstrosity also kindve sucks unless i babysit it which is annoying, but even if i dont its strong enough to push a lane back the the towers if none of the enemy heroes deal with it (and i try to use it when the enemy team needs to deal with a team fight or an objective), on the pirate map i will get ultimate evolution, pushing lanes on that map the way i do (very slowly but constantly and equally across all 3) is entirely pointless because of the cannon
Hopefully they buff his ults

At level 4 i might take balistospore or sustained carapace instead, it depends on the team composition, the 25% attack speed buff is so strong but doesnt work well with a lot of heroes, most of the games i play has at least 1 hero that it works well with though so i usually get that
At level 7 sometimes i take mule instead, if the game is going very poorly by level 7 ill def take mule, but if its even or if we are ahead ill take needlespine since the increased range lets me secure kills a lot of the time (also it makes it easier since a lot of people like to be as far away from the enemy as possible)
At level 16 adrenaline boost is OP, 40% move speed can keep up with someone thats on a mount (and i can knock them off the mount with stab), i think this and the 25% attack speed buff will get nerfed next patch
The healing talents look small but it adds up a lot, level 20 is healing for 47 per sec and at least 140hp every 6 seconds on top of the 460hp that the shield adds every 12 seconds, every 12 seconds is roughly 1500hp total gained from all this, give or take 450 depending on the situation
Also ive tried locust builds to get max siege dmg, but it seems to suck, this team fight build more fun to play and is more powerful

But playing abathur has some downsides too, mainly you see every single mistake that people make and you can control them so when they are running for their life and im stabbing the chasing enemies they dont realize that ive nearly killed the enemy chasing them and all they have to do is turn around to prevent them from running away
Ill ping the enemy i want them to attack in that situation but they are so focused on "oh god i must run to not die" that they dont realize they are actually ahead on life and could easily get 2 kills by just turning around like im pinging for them to do
It can be very frustrating at times and i can see where the rage people have comes from between this and the mistakes people make, the good thing is that the enemy is sometime so focused on "i must get the kill" that my stab will just kill them as they chase (sometimes i wont shield or heal my ally just so the enemy will get closer and over commit so my stab can kill them)

And sometimes people dont know what abathur can do, since hes so different from the other heroes, and they will usually complain after they die in a team fight about me being afk or d/ced, at which point i tell them to look at scoreboard where im first or 2nd in both hero and siege damage, and usually first in xp contribution, at which point they will be confused and sometimes i can mess with them by saying "you didnt see me in that last team fight", its hilarious
Other times people think abathur is useless, but so far no one has raged at me for being abathur even those that think abathur is useless, mainly because we win in those cases and ill be top or near the top of the scoreboard




I still have to unlock rehgar (hes next, need 2k more gold)
Ive unlocked 7 heroes so far (Abathur, Arthas, Li Li, Raynor, Tassadar, Tychus, and Valla), need 3 more for ranked, ive decided it will be Rehgar, Falstad, and either Hammer or Nazeebo (need to play nazeebo for his talents, abathur doesnt copy talents either)
Then after that is Thrall once hes 10k
I dont plan to play ranked any time soon though, ill play it a few times, just to see the draft mode, but theres no way to see someones rank and it will be wiped and theres no reward, so theres very little point other than to test it out
