 new maze?

so its summer
life is good
and im thinkin tmmm needs a new maze to its name

idk anything about said maze, but i like making maps so pretty much anything is fair game
is anyone interested in teaming up for it?
you dont need to know how to use the world editor to help. if you've got a cool idea or something you absolutely love in mazes, those are just as important as actually doing stuff in the editor.
even if its complicated, feel free to suggest it.

Im alredy making a map right now though, its not a maze but i plan to credit the clan in it. Id like to be able to test it with people if you have time Very Happy

I actually had a really cool idea for a custom game that was really different and probably more fun than making a dumb maze (Although it is sorta like a maze).

Basically you know that haircut video on youtube?

What if you made a interactive cinematic thing on war3.

You get choices and the people there vote between choice A and choice B. Then the cinematic plays and you have to beat a mini-game that is in line with the story.

There could be a total of like 32 or 16 different series of outcomes. Either way I think making the map would be pretty fun because their isn't stupid repetition going on like their is in making a maze.

***Dunno, it's just different and hasn't really been done on war3 so I think we could make our name by doing something like this :O.

but i wanna get a maze out first
mb we can try that idea out in small scale in the maze with like 4 different branches

but i still think itd be sweet to try it on a bigger scale after if ne1 is interested in doing it with meh

My point is we're basically not a mazing clan anymore....

Why the heck would we make a maze lol...

It won't get us noticed. The only way for us to become noticed for mazing is to requite some good roc mazers, get everyone in tmmm back into mazing and challenge the roc clans to a mazing competition. But that wont happen cus no one likes mazing that much anymore lol.

Secondly we should make a new custom game to attract new people

Thirdly this is probably just going to be a mess and never get done like most projects in this section lol.

I had an idea awhile ago for a maze that has classes, and each class could do something different to progress the team, like team fortress, but closer to enemy territory (or brink)
And the maze itself was made out of actual things instead of just an arbitrary path
Like the first part i was thinking of was a short cinematic with the players walking into a town and then the town catches fire near where they are and the town guards think they did it so they close the gate that the players just entered into and you have to escape the gaurds that are patrolling through the town while the town burns down
The fire bits of the town would act like the death regions

I never did anything with it for several reasons
Mainly because i figured no one would play it, and partly because thats as far as i could plan it out, once they got out of the town i didnt know where to go from there, and i didnt want to set the whole thing in the town

It might work if you drop the classes, cinematic, and just have a burning town as 1 level

That idea wont work in a game, the part with voting, just using a vote, is the laziest way to make something that has multiple endings in a game
Youd be better off just making a normal game with choices and branching outcomes
Or a maze with branching outcomes like seren was saying

The reason that idea works with the haircut thing is because thats an interactive song
Song being the most important part

The world maze I had been making had a town like that pat.
It was burning and there were guards that started attacking after you entered.

but it was too forced and ended too quickly. wasnt any fun at all.
that idea change sounds a lot better, if we end up picking up the world maze instead of starting something fresh that would probably be used for the town.
would you be up for doing that section if we end up doing that?


I was thinking that it would be adapted to more of a build your own adventure format.
where you'd have levels that all made you make a decision and then the consequent levels/route were based off of that.

well yeah, thats what i was thinking
i've never played a game with an intro cinematic that i didnt wish i could skip. even one with choices i think would get old too quickly

I cant remember if i saw that level of yours or not
Im pretty sure i had the idea i was talking about before i knew of your maze though
The guards wouldnt attack you though, they would just be like normal patrollers
The ones that blame you for the fire would chase you the whole time and if they touched you, you would just die like normal

And no, I wouldnt do that section

I'v got 2 mazes, one is about half done and the other like a 6th. Pat knows them both. I'm still in school till like the end of june so I can't help yet but if you want i can show you them both just ask.

I escaped, but man was it hard. They had sit on a horse on the way to the station, do you realisehow big those things are? I wasn't cuffed or anything but man it was a crazy jump. So I took a deep breath, and made a jump for it, followed by a barrel roll so I don't break anything. Then i made a run for into the woods. Stupid canadians tryed to use the horses as bloodhounds and sniff me out. When i got out i realised i was in Quebec, stupid frenchies. I stumbeled into a town and saw that I was on wanted poster on every wall, I was a fugitive! The rewared was like 20 bottle of maple syurp, that's like 20 bars of gold up here. I found a baseball cap buried in the snow near one of the igloos. I was now blending in.

The rest will continue another time cause I got to work on a bio report.
