The texture patcher broke my ability to downgrade to 1.5 so i cant play on the server until its updated, so i cant check, but you should get an "Outdated server!" message if the server is up and running 1.5

The newest version of the texture patcher (2.1.0) is really buggy:

It only works for 1.6 and newer (which is what i think broke the abilty to downgrade)
Theres blurring on the handles for tools, as well as some other visual errors on all texture packs
Theres compatibility issues with modloader and certain mods
Some textures above block/item id 256 in certain 128x128 and 256x256 texture packs end up being white squares under certain circumstances
Its causing many out of memory errors within minecraft when it shouldnt, even with 32x32 texture packs

typical it was down only when i tried to connect :p

i think i have to reinstall my java again

i tried to install java 3d for something and i ran into some issues and now occasionally minecraft will run me out of memory, even if i just sit in one spot on a new world

i also occasionally get this weird glitch where i can kill blocks but their texture will stay

Thats not from java 3d (though java 3d is pointless to have)
Its from minecraft itself

Im getting out of memory errors to with 1.6
I thought it was from the texture patcher, since i didnt think mojang could screw up that badly, but no, its minecraft itself

Its from the 1.6.2 update part of a bug where blocks aren't unloaded causing it to fill up your memory (even if you switch between saves)

Minecraft 1.6 (1.6-1.6.5) fixed about 100 bugs, but introduced about 100 more
The 100 bugs that 1.6 made are worse then the 100 bugs it fixed

so as most people know minecraft updated to 1.6
recently collin upgraded the server to support 1.6 as we thought 1.6.6 had fixed most of the glaring issues.

unfortunately the update also broke the worlds plugin and collin didn't have a chance to fix it last night. he's gonna work on it today and the server should be up by tonight (or tomorrow at the latest)

permissions changed with the last bukkit update
permissions is used in almost every plugin and thus every plugin was broken

we're still waiting for a few to get back in the game
i can't give an estimate without knowing where those teams are at

UPDATE:

collin's the man and server is back up

he got most of the problems but here are some current problems that he didnt have time to fix (today):

game kicks on entering any portal (pat now gets to think "called it")

mcmmo got reset
idk how or why, but collin's gonna try and bring the old information over to the new format. its looking like 50-50 for full reset. if you're a regular player, i'll consider giving your stats back manually. but its a pain in the ass so i really doubt ill do it. i wont do it for me if i dont do it for you.

Does that include linked portals, how will you get between the hubworld pvp and survival, is there a command to go between worlds

The stats are probably stored in a database, editing the database directly would take minutes and be much quicker then using in game commands to set all the stats individually, which could take an hour or more

yeah i cant wait till the nether is up n active also
but its gonna be a little while longer

and yes it does include the linked portals
i'm not too worried about transport at the moment since the server is still well within beta (not very public) and its mostly being tested for SMP (no ones gonna be stranded). i intended for it to be tested with pvp, but the popular vote was smp and thats cool too.

and you're right about the database, but i don't have access to it. collin is a lot better at database stuff anyways so he'll probably take care of it

Um, i logged in and i showed up in the middle of nowhere, i got to a high point and saw nothing that looked familiar. No structures or recognizable landmasses. The permissions for using /plist has to be adjusted too.

i think everything will need to be adjusted

the server is basically starting fresh because of how many things changed

as i said a small change to permissions means a big change to everything else
and permissions got a huge change...

the maps should be fine
we back everything up pretty often in our handy dandy drop box

on the other hand when the worlds plugin was started up with in its new permissions ready form it decided that instead of using the old maps it'd make new ones with the same name and then overwrite the old ones (still have the backups though)

it'll take a bit to fix, but they should be coming back

and god damnit enough about runecraft
it'll get here when it gets here

ah good i logged in and was right where my base should by and i was terribly confused at it not being there


the only thing i like about runecraft is its fancy redstone stuff

otherwise it just changes too much

and i know a few glitches to get infinite of certain items

So the server is now up and running on version 1.6.6. Sorry for the delays. All permissions should be okay now (people can actually build xD) Let me know if anything's being bothersome.

ONE NOTE: DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, ENTER A NETHER PORTAL. The ones to-and-from the hub world are fine, but user-created ones tend to have some bad side-effects for the moment. trust me on this one.

I went into pat's portal and the whole server crashed. I couldnt collect anything from there anyways for some reason. When the server came back up, i went back through the portal and ended up in the middle of nowhere on the edge of the map. cd had to teleport me back to the starting area.

The plugin for world teleporting (like from the hub world to the main world) uses nether portals and something from that is probably conflicting with something from 1.6's addition of nether to MP

Also all my stats are 0 Sad

Server Update:

Server will soon support (later this afternoon) both premium and "free" versions of minecraft!
(IT DOESN'T SUPPORT IT YET, ILL CHANGE WHEN ITS GOOD TO GO)

Rules for free users:

all the rules for regular users apply
but also:
only register 1 account
dont register someone else's account (i dont want to deal with this, so ill just ban you if you do)

each user will have their own password

it works like this:

step 1:

/register (password)
this stores your password using whirlpool hashes (no worries about us taking it)
you only do this step once (to register a name on the server)
ONLY DO THIS ONCE.
dont make something fun into crazy drama

step 2:
from now on whenever you log in you need to verify youre the actual owner of the account
do this by
/login (password)
after you login, you can enter commands and do all that other nifty stuff

step 2.5:
if you want to change your password, use:
/changepass (newpass)
obviously you need to login first.

im sure there are lots of bugs or ways to get around it, but please just keep things simple if you're using a free account.

The gods are working on migrating the stats. The upgrade broke and reset everything so I'm still getting everything going. I'll post as shit happens.
